now is the time

is He calling your name?
j
Come!
...Come, now is the time to worship
Come, now is the time to give your heart
Come, just as you are to worship
Come, just as you are before your God
Come...

One day ev'ry tongue will confess You are God
One day ev'ry knee will bow
Still the greatest treasure remains for those,
Who gladly choose You now...

...souls...

Charles H Spurgeon said,

...If you're not concerned about the souls of others, I'm concerned about yours.
and-
Have you no wish for others to be saved? Then you're not saved yourself, be sure of that!
I've been wondering why God is being so patient with this world... with all of the horrible things going on, the things people are doing... so much evil.

Then I remembered- it's because He's waiting for as many as possible to be saved.

And i haven't been doing my part.

What to do? I have a few ideas...

Souls are at stake.

...just a great moral teacher?...

"I'm ready to accept Jesus as a great moral teacher, but I don't accept His claim to be God.' That is the one thing we must not say. A man who was merely a man and said the sort of things Jesus said would not be a great moral teacher. He would either be a lunatic -- on the level with the man who says he is a poached egg -- or else he would be the Devil of Hell. You must make your choice. Either this man was, and is, the Son of God: or else a madman or something worse. You can shut Him up for a fool, you can spit at Him and kill Him as a demon; or you can fall at His feet and call Him Lord and God. But let us not come with any patronizing nonsense about His being a great human teacher. He has not left that open to us. He did not intend to."   Clive Staples Lewis
So, so many want to, try to, think they do... put God, Jesus and the Gospel in their little box. Convenient. A little box they put their little thoughts and decisions into, fold closed, tuck under their arm and carry around like a possession. My little opinion in my little box. Like that changes ...anything.

Smile. Wink.

I call Him Lord and God,

CS Lewis on Knowing God

  •       Too Proud to Know God {Mere Christianity}
The Christians are right; it is Pride which has been the chief cause of misery in every nation and every family since the world began. Other vices may sometimes bring people together: you may find good fellowship and jokes and friendliness among drunken people or unchaste people. But pride always means enmity - it is enmity. And not only enmity between man and man, but enmity to God.

In God you come up against something which is in every respect immeasurably superior to yourself. Unless you know God as that - and, therefore, know yourself as nothing in comparison - you do not know God. As long as you are proud you cannot know God. A proud man is always looking down on things and people: and, of course, as long as you looking down you cannot see something that is above you.
